Pupil Premium

  • Pupil Premium

Background

The Pupil Premium introduced in 2011 – 12, is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM).  Children who have also been looked after continuously for more than six months are also eligible and pupils whose parents are serving in the Armed Forces.  In April 2012-13 this funding was extended to include children who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years, known as ‘Ever 6’ and for service children in the previous 3 years, ‘Ever 3’.

From April 2014, Pupil Premium funding was extended for children adopted from care, or who have left care under a Special Guardianship Order (SGO), on or after 30 December 2005 provided they are recorded on the January 2014 school census.  Parents were informed in our newsletters and by parent mail of the need to inform the school about their child’s circumstances before 16 January 2014 in order for the school to receive Pupil Premium for these children in the financial year 2014 – 15.

Since September 2014, all infant children now receive a free school meal under the Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) programme, however, families who are eligible for Pupil Premium still need to complete the ‘Free School Meals’ application process in order for school to receive this additional funding – see link below. If parents do not register the school will not receive the funding to support additional programmes and opportunities. It is strongly recommended that families check to see whether they are eligible and if they are, take advantage of the scheme.

Registering for Pupil Premium funding for your child’s school

Please register your child if you are eligible using the easy online facility launched by Hampshire County Council Catering Service (HC3S) which you can also use to check your eligibility: https://www.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/hants

Our school office is very happy to assist with the application process and you can register on-line using our office computer with the support of one of the office team. Please phone the school office to arrange a time.
