Personal, social and emotional development (PSE)
Personal, Social and Emotional (P.S.E.) development
Children develop a positive sense of themselves and others: to form positive relationships and develop respect for others. They develop social skills and learn how to manage their feelings; to understand appropriate behaviour in groups; and to have confidence in their own abilities.
PSE learning is an integral part of all Early Years Foundation Stage areas of learning. Through adult led and independent activities the children learn to work with others listening to each other, sharing and taking turns fairly.
Our Golden Rules underpin all aspects of school life and the children quickly learn to respect these.
Each class holds regular ‘circle times’ which enable children to explore their own ideas and feelings and respect those of others.
